I saw Roy play in Cincinnati at a place called the "Renaisance" downtown. I believe it was 1985 or so. I went with my girlfriend (who is now my wife) and we had good seats - on the floor about 12 rows back from the stage. The most powerful memory I have of his performance is the 'connection' we had. Real or imagined, I don't know but Cheryl remembers it, too. He was hypnotic and I was certainly mesmerized by his emotive power on his instrument. Sometime into his performance I remember locking eyes with his as he played. Since I am a player, too, I can't forget how moved, lifted and plain blown away I was by his soul searing solos. Whatever this connection was, I know he felt it, too, and it is one of my most inspiring moments as a player and a fan. I'll miss him.

Roy é imcomparável, pois o sentimento em cada nota e a perfeição (segurança) da execução, faziam dele o melhor!
